Myra Lee Adams Goff

Author and historian Myra Lee Adams Goff is a fifth-generation New Braunfelser. After growing up in New Braunfels, she earned her degree in social science with minors in German and English from Texas Christian University. She began her writing career in high school with a column in the Town and Country News and as a special correspondent for the San Antonio Light

After teaching 31 years in the New Braunfels Independent School District, she resumed her writing career. She and Rosemarie Leissner Gregory formed a partnership to write Kindermaskenball, Past and Present; History of First Protestant Church; and the narration for New Braunfels, Comal County Texas, a Pictorial History.

Within the last two years, she has written the book It’s Fair Time, the History of the Comal County Fair. She also wrote a feature section about the history of the Comal County Courthouse for the Herald-Zeitung.

In June, 2006, she began writing the column “Around the Museum and Archives” for the Sophienburg which appears in the Herald-Zeitung every other Tuesday.
