"On June 23, 1900, with a pioneering spirit and Christian Faith, 17 members (three new members had been added, Walter and Willie Holland, Dave Hardeman) purchased a parcel of land on the corner of Camp and North Washington Ave (which is the present location) from Mr. Franz Coreth for the sum of $75.00. Pastor Connally, with the help of brothers, Sam and Joe Williams, built a one room frame church building facing Camp Street, Later it was changed to face North Washington Ave."
