COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines
Per the governor’s orders, we are taking precautions to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff during this unusual time. Our staff has extensive cleaning procedures and will be wearing masks when you visit. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience at The Sophienburg.
The guidelines below will help everyone, so please ensure to follow these when you come!
Before Your Visit
To ensure everyone’s safety, please do not come to the Sophienburg Museum and Archives if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. A list of symptoms can be found here.
During Your Visit
Sophienburg Museum will be allowed to host 50 percent capacity each day.
Due to the fragile nature of the documents and prolonged nature of research, The Archives will NOT be open to the public for research at this time. We are offering to do the research for you at a reduced rate of $10 per hour (Please ask about research rates for members).
Members are asked to provide their membership card or a name for proof of membership when checking in.
We are requiring that masks be worn at this time.
Please use hand sanitizer and wash your hands throughout your visit at sanitizing stations or in restrooms.
Visitors should maintain social distancing (6 feet of space) throughout your visit. Markers on the floor will be placed for front desk check in.
Visitors are asked to limit touching of any handrails or other surfaces. Please be sure to respect all barriers per the governor’s order.
