The Sophienburg Museum & Archives is proud to host a variety of annual events that bring the community together in celebration of history, heritage, and tradition. From patriotic parades to festive fundraisers, each gathering reflects our mission to preserve and share the unique story of New Braunfels and its German-Texan roots.
Weihnachtsmarket

Enjoy an exclusive Christmas shopping experience at Weihnachtsmarkt, a German-style Christmas Market with a Texas Twist. The market will offer authentic German collectibles and ornaments, unique decorations, specialty items, fabulous gifts, apparel and antiques. Select from a wide array of retail merchants and artisans.
Summer Camp!
Step back in time with Sophienburg Summer Camps! Young historians will explore local heritage through hands-on activities, games, crafts, and storytelling — bringing New Braunfels’ rich past to life in fun and engaging ways.
Volunteer
There are many ways to support the Sophienburg Museum & Archives. Volunteers help greet guests, guide tours, and assist with events and history camps. In the Archives, they support cataloging, data entry, research requests, and photo collections. Sophie’s Shop also welcomes help with daily operations. There’s even room for those who enjoy hands-on tinkering.
