CAN I TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS OR VIDEO INSIDE THE SOPHIENBURG?
Still photography for individual use is permitted in the museum area only. Flash photography is prohibited to protect the artifacts.
ARE FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE MUSEUM?
No food or drinks are permitted in the Sophienburg Museum & Archives.
IS THE MUSEUM HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?
All museum entrances are wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking and accessible restrooms are available.

CAN I RENT THE SOPHIENBURG MUSEUM?
The Emmie Seele Faust Library and the Malmstead Pavilion are available for parties, wedding receptions, dinners, and meetings. For more information on renting the museum, visit our rentals page.
CAN I DO RESEARCH AT THE ARCHIVES?
Our Archives is open to the public with payment of museum admission. It houses historical records, photographs, newspapers dating back to 1852, manuscripts and maps documenting German immigration and life in the New Braunfels and Comal County area.
DOES THE MUSEUM ALLOW THE CONCEALED OR OPEN CARRY OF HANDGUNS?
No, we do not according to Texas Penal Code 30.06 and 30.07.
